Hey Parents and Coaches!
Here are a few things we have had in the past, but I need to remind everyone this weekend.
We need to keep the bleachers CLEAR on the floor at HVA. If there are any handicap spectators or elderly that can’t walk up stairs, we can provide seating on the side. But sitting on the bleachers downstairs is a safety risk.
Absolutely NO PARENTS should be on the floor or on to the bench unless otherwise approved by me due to the absence of a head/assistant coach. The only exception is if your child is physically injured. But emotional distress is not a reason. 😉
If any coaches or parents are encouraging your kids to foul until it is called, this is NOT what we are trying to accomplish with this league. We want our games to be competitive so we can teach kids the RIGHT way to compete. If your goal is to create a competitive advantage through overly-aggressive play, this provokes out-of-control play. And this is how kids get hurt. My suggestion is to tell them to have “active hands and feet”. This promotes aggressive play within the rules.
Generally speaking, the rule at most levels of basketball is that only the head coach can stand on the sidelines. Our referees are more lenient in this league as long as it is not a distraction or you’re not giving them a hard time.
Thanks, and let’s have a great day of games!

I'm not speaking to anyone directly. I'm just letting everyone know my expectations. This is primarily in regards to our rec league that is only HV teams because I have more control over that. But I can't control what other groups do at other locations except express a concern and then hope it is handled.
